Tortuguero, is a navigable network of lake and canals that cross the National Park from Southeast to Northwest and accessible only by land, boat or air. The are no roads to get here!.
Mawamba Lodge is situated on the Northeast area of Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast on a sand bar between the Tortuguero Canals and the Caribbean Ocean, an excellent location that provides direct access to the pristine beach and the canals. Nestled in the lush rainforest, this is the ideal hideaway for nature lovers and the perfect place to discover the wonders of the Tortuguero National Park.
The Lodge is a 15-acre beach front property located on the right side of Tortuguero, offering nice views to the Tortuguero Lagoon and the canals.
ROOMS
It's beautiful gardens and rustic accommodations, blend with the exuberant jungle vegetation, exotic birds and wildlife creating the perfect balance of nature. All the spacious and comfortable rooms are built in fine woods and are equipped with either 1 double and one single bed or three single beds. All feature a private bathroom with hot water and ceiling fans and offer tranquil garden views.
Restaurant The Family style restaurant caters International and delicious local cuisine and a pool - whirlpool area surrounded by beautiful gardens where you can enjoy exotic tropical cocktails, are some of the facilities that you will find at the Lodge. In the pool area we protect a "Red-eyed tree frog" project, where you will observe these lovely animals in their natural habitat. Relaxing ranchos / palapas with hammocks tucked away in the gardens, are the right place to relax after a day of adventures and discoveries, read a good book or just enjoy the sounds of the rainforest.
